Tukucha:The Lost River

Necessary Steps 

 

Now, everybody need to be serious about this matter. Otherwise Tukucha will only be the part of the history that “once upon a time there used to be a huge river”. So, now we must all be concerned about what government can do? What we can do to protect the existence of Tukucha? Before knowing about the ways to protect it, we need to think about root causes behind it’s worst situation. The causes are:

 

1) Irresponsibility of Government is the main cause.

2) Law is not implemented strictly.

3) People aren’t aware about the consequenses of loosing a river.

4) Some people even don’t know about the existence of Tukucha.

5) People and industries are throwing all types of wastages in it so Tukucha is polluted.

 

After knowing about the causes behind it’s present condition we need to think about it’s solution. What may be the nessesary steps that should be taken for the protection of Tukucha river? Some points are described below: 

 

A) Government should be responsible: Government isn’t taking this matter seriously. So till now it had not taken any serious action for the protection of Tukucha. Government is the backbone of the country. Govenment can shape the country the way they like to. So, govenment should fulfill their responsibity regarding protection of Tukucha.

 

B) Implementation of law: According to land administration act, nobody can build any infrastructures above the river. But this law is not implemented strictly. Houses are made illegally. Those laws should be implemented properly. Govenment have to watch whether the law have been implemented or not.

 

C) Penalty should be given: If any organization or people is voilating the law, they need to be punished. Financial penalty should be given to them for voilating the law.

 

D) Awareness: Awareness campaign should be held. Many people don’t even know about Tukucha river. So, how can they contribute protecting its existence? They need to be made aware about the presence of Tukucha river and it’s present state.

 

E) Everything made above Tukucha should be destroyed: Those creations like shops building should be destroyed. Illegal buildings should be destroyed without any delay. But the houses made legally above Tukucha without knowing about the presence of tukucha under there should be given compensation and after certain interval of time that should be destroyed.

 

F) Construction of bridge above Tukucha: If any infrastructure should be made there, bridge should be constructed above the Tukucha as shown in fig: 5. G) Plantation: Around the area near Tukucha, plantation should be done as shown in fig: 6. Greenary makes the environment fresh and beautiful near river. Tukucha can be pollution free and a beautiful source of water if plantation is done near Tukucha.

 

H) Yearly survey: Survey department of land should do survey once a year near the river area to watch whether anyone is voilating the law or not. If anybody has made anything above the river or within 4 m left and 4 m right from Tukucha, it should be destroyed without any kind of delay.
